Thank you for sharing this, I can’t imagine how hard this has been. And I am beyond grateful here that you received in the best way what I was trying to do with this book. Even after starting tibi nearly 30 years ago now, since figuring these principles out and writing about them has changed my life, it’s a different purpose - and I’m so grateful for this.
Amy, wow. It means so much that you read this (incidentally, I’m wearing nylon Felix joggers as I sit here). I recently learned about embodied cognition, and how it connects to the way we dress when we’re feeling truly ourselves. Not just our “best selves” that we perform, but our **truest** selves.
It made me think back to your book, where you gave language to that tension: how a creative professional can dress with intention while still being grounded. That duality shows up everywhere; not just in fashion and design (hey, I work in venture capital marketing for healthcare startups, and I see it every day).
Thank you for bringing inspiration, perspective, and (of course) a damn good pair of pants. <3

Thank you for sharing this ❤️
Wow, Claire. I am quite shocked to hear of your experience and in awe of your writing and insight.
Thanks for reading. It was hard to write, but it also poured out of me, as contradictory as that sounds.
I know the exact experience — so grateful you’ve done the processing and made the space for it to come out. And so perfectly at that.
❤️❤️❤️
